Bradley Cooper

A native of the Bahamas, Brad Cooper arrived on the Florida State University campus in the mid 1970s. By the end of the decade he had established himself as the Seminoles' best discus thrower ever. In 1978 he threw the disc 189' to place fourth in the NCAA championships. He returned to the NCAA championship meet in 1979 to win the discus throw with a toss of 212' 6", an NCAA record. After graduation, Cooper spent some time coaching the FSU throwers before returning to the Bahamas. He was on the Bahamian Olympic team in 1984 and 1988, represented the Bahamas at the IAAF world championships in 1983 and 1987, and won the gold medal in the 1982 Commonwealth Games discus throw.
